Germanicus, died 19. Dupondius (Orichalcum, 30 mm, 14.95 g, 7 h), Rome, struck und Gaius (Caligula), 37-41. GERMANICVS CAESAR Germanicus, bare-headed and draped, holding eagle-tipped scepter in his right hand and reins in his in left, driving triumphal quadriga to right; chariot ornamented with depiction of Victory with shield before. Rev. SIGNIS - RECEPT / DEVICTIS - GERM / S - C Germanicus, bare-headed and in military attire, standing front, head to left, his right leg bent at knee and drawn back behind his left, raising his right hand in gesture of command and holding aquila in his left.
